Buying a Home Treadmill – Things to Look For

When buying a home treadmill there are a few critical factors that you will need to check out before you go ahead and make your purchase.

Home Treadmills - Things to consider when buying a home treadmill

1. Budget – How much money are you going to spend. There is a huge variation in the cost and quality of various treadmills on the market, so it is important that you get something that meets your needs and your budget.

I would suggest that you have a good idea of how much money you want to spend and then review different treadmills within this price range. You can spend anywhere from a few hundred dollars on a home treadmill up to a few thousand dollars.

2. Size – Where are you going to be using the treadmill? Can you leave the treadmill up all the time or do you want to pack it away sometimes. Maybe you might be better with a folding treadmill if you only have a limited area that you sometimes use for other activities.

3. Reliability and Support – Read reviews. Find out about the equipment and the company. First thing to look for is a machine with plenty of reviews. If there are only 2 or 3 reviews then it will be difficult to get a real idea of the treadmill or the company. But if there is 10 or more reviews then you can start to get a real idea of the quality of the machine and the company.

Most of the other factors are cosmetic. What does the display look like? Does it tell you what you want to know. Personally I really only want to know what speed I am going at and how long I have been training for. And it is always good to get an idea of what your heart rate is while you are training also.

What do you want your treadmill display to tell you?

What does the treadmill look like. Do you like the appearance? Do you want something that is big and sturdy or do you want something that is sleek.
