Buying a Home Gym – Things to Consider
Obviously there are some important factors to consider when buying a Home Gym.
Do Not Make This Mistake
One of the most important factors I find that brings a lot of people problems is the size of the home gym unit. Where are you going to put your home gym? How big is the area? And how high is the ceiling? I know of a few people that when they have got their home gym delivered they have found that it is too big to fit in the area that they thought they were going to set it up.
So, I would suggest that you measure the area where you are going to put your home gym. Make sure you give yourself enough room to get around in the area as well. Remember when you are lying on a bench you will need some room at the end of the bench for you legs.
Then look carefully at the dimensions of the Home Gym units that you are interested in and make sure that they will fit comfortably into the area that you have chosen. I would suggest that you choose a unit that will fit comfortably into the space, so that you have room to get around, or so that if you have a workout buddy you can both fit into the space comfortably.
As your fitness and exercise routines develop you will probably also want to add some free weight exercises into your routine so make sure you have some room to do this.
Range of Exercises
So do you have some favorite exercises that you like to perform? You should make sure that your home gym will accommodate these. Most home gyms have a fairly standard set of exercises like bench press, lat pulldown, leg press, and shoulder press. You may then find some variation in things like a chin up bar or a dips bar. So if you want these exercises make sure that the home gym you choose will accommodate these.
